Talidu provides modern support for spelling support in elementary school – data-driven, personalized, and child-friendly. The app was developed by the University of Regensburg and Meister Cody together with teachers and children. An artificial intelligence system trained by educators and didacticians recognizes spelling error patterns, provides personalized feedback, and offers appropriate exercises.
Learning and practicing. The child hears words read to them via audio and types them using the keyboard. Even beginners in literacy can use the app – in addition to the regular keyboard, there is a specially developed keyboard with sound images. While practicing, the child receives direct feedback on correct placement and errors. This encourages the child to solve problems. At the same time, Talidu analyzes the learning process: What does the child already know and what errors do they make? What strategies do they use? Where do they need help? Talidu provides tips for errors and promotes spelling learning with differentiated suggestions for strategies and rules.
Language development. Illustrations and sentence audios help with language comprehension and promote language and German language acquisition – all while being a side effect.
Diagnosis: The child and the teacher receive an automated overview of the learning process and learning level. This helps them celebrate learning progress, reflect on the learning process, and plan and adapt lessons or their own learning in a differentiated manner.
