The app constantly loads your data from the Internet and is quite unstable while doing so. E.g. it doesn't use locally stored boarding passes. We had boarding passes for a flight in the app, which were suddenly randomly gone shortly before the flight. So was the button to get them back. We luckily had PDF versions in an email.

It's extremely difficult to use. It repeatedly asked me to update contact details, but would not let me proceed, then, suddenly, for no apparent reason, let me in. A lot of wasted time setting up before being able to see my flights. It took me to an unwanted Rewards scheme rather than just letting me into the app. I haven't flown with Etihad for a while: I hope the in-flight experience is better than the app and other customer service.

I was quite wary considering the reviews of the app, but so far I really had no issues. Sometimes it loads slow, but that's just about it. Being able to explore the plane in 3d a bit is a nice touch. The only thing is that I can't seem to activate my Etihad Guest account, but that's not limited to the app, so I'm not including this in the score. May update if the experience changes.
